Mum's....they're our superhero without the cape, our go to.
We might not tell them often enough how much we love them but I'm sure they know it. My mum lives in Australia so I don't get to spend the time with her that l'd like but yearly trips across the ditch mean we catch up when we can. When mum visit's she's always doing something for us, whether it be the washing, making the beds or ironing garments that we never normally iron (I'm looking at you underwear and singlets!!!).
A lot of mums are great cooks. My mum isn't one of them....it's okay, she won't mind me telling you that. I'm my mother's daughter because I'm not a great cook either. Her husband and my husband are the chef's of the households and we kinda like it that way.
We've all heard jokes about mother-in-law's, some of the things I've heard customers say in the shop have made me laugh out loud and I won't repeat them here. I had a discussion about this with a customer a couple of weeks ago and I told her that I feel very fortunate to have the mother-in-law I do. Among so many other things she's an amazing cook, super organised and a great story teller. I'd love to get both of them together one day for a Mother's Day celebration but due to distance that won't happen anytime soon unfortunately.
